How would one describe Modeselektor?
Post modern electronic Dance? Controlled chaos? Groundbreaking techno-dance-IDM-hip-hop-grime-dubstep?

Since the German duo Modeselektor started in 1997, two complete albums were released. The gentlemen already had the chance to have impressive collaborations with artists like Thom Yorke and Moderat.

Previously this year, the third album “Monkeytown” was finally born. This is what the duo has to say about this album: “It is the first album that almost drove us crazy; the first Modeselektor album that we produced 100% together in the studio in one session over the course of ten weeks”. In short, Monkeytown is the first album that gives us a peek in the masterminds of the two charismatic Germans. Everyone who has seen this duo live, knows the impact that the visuals, the layered bass sounds and beats and Modeselektor’s unique performance, has.

‘Controlled Chaos’ might just be the best description after all.
As a person, Siriusmo preferred to stay anonymous. Alas the constant quality of his own tracks and remixes (a.o. Gossip, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Scissor Sisters) decided differently. His music is as addictive, distinct and colourful as a pinball machine that throws the ball from Berlin to Paris to London. From electro to French discohouse and from techno to dubstep, reggae and catchy funk; Siriusmo turns it into a colourful and danceable mosaic.
