Fusing Reggae, Afro-Pop, Hip-Hop, Rock, and Soul music with passionate lyrics in English, French, Wolof and Fulani, Meta and The Cornerstones’ music is warm and immensely addictive.From Senegal to the StatesListening to Bob Marley and Gregory Isaacs, the Senegalese-born Meta Dia discovered his love for music  at a young age. The self-taught musician started performing on the streets and stages of his hometown when he was 14 and formed his first band 'Yalla Suuren' in 2000. Within two years, Meta had become one of most promising voices of the Hip-Hop culture in West Africa. After relocating to the United States, Meta formed his visionary band: Meta and The Cornerstones.More than reggaeThe band channels the roots of Reggae while simultaneously breathing new life into the genre, creating what critics have called a “soul-pounding spiritual experience.” They already shared the stage with artists like Youssou N’Dour, Luciano and Tanya Stephens before their debut album ‘Forward Music’ was even released.Ode to the rootsMeta and The Cornerstones released their sophomore album ‘Ancient Power’ in 2013. The album was recorded in Kingston, Jamaica and pays tribute to the ageless sounds of reggae preserved by the history of its legends, featuring collaborations with Damian Marley, U-Roy and Capleton.Support act tonight is Jon Tarifa & band. The Albanian born, US-raised but nowadays Dutch citizen has accomplished to perform at the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival, has appeared at Parkpop four times and released his debut album 'Free to Be' last year. The skillful MC, Rapper, Musician and poet mixes jazz with funky instrumentals.
