LABOMBA

Sunday 27 January 2019 2019

LaBomba is a rock trio from The Hague with American/Dutch roots. The sound of the band is very American and that’s not without a reason. Bass player/singer Dave Bordeaux (Billy The Kid, Fan Halen) was born and raised there, guitarist/singer Maroen Fransen (Winterland) graduated from the MIT in LA, where his teachers where e.a. Steve Vai and Eddy van Halen, at age 16 and drummer/singer Peter Nelissen (YaYa’s) has worked for musicmagazine Billboard in the past.

All three of them sing lead by switching now and then and there will be a lot of singing in harmony, what also concludes the American sound. The second studio album is expected at the end of spring 2019 and meanwhile the recordings of a live album are started, which will also be the focus of this performance at Paard.

3 voor 12 called the sound of the first album at the beginning of 2018 ”Frech, Loud and Different” a crossover between the sound of Eddy Vedder and a young Aerosmith. Nice compliments for the band, but they feel more at home when they call it ”Fresh, Loud and Different.”
