Hauntingly refined symphonic compositions and a unique combination of instruments. The Hague band Eskina evokes an experience that varies in style from the minimalist Philip Glass to the British alt rock titans Radiohead. Led by guitarist and composer Merel van Hoek, you will be taken to worlds of shaded forests and intimate evening firesides. On 3 October 2021 to be seen in PAARD!

In 2019 they reached the quarterfinals of De Grote Prijs Van Nederland where they surprised the audience and the jury with their heartwarming, soulful aesthetic that fuses both pop and neoclassical genres.

Their first single ‘At The End Of The Sea’ was released in 2017 by the renowned American record label Candyrat Records. Eskina explores the space from classical to pop by mixing strings and guitar with evocative electronics. This characteristic combination also formed the basis of their next album: ‘We Were the Moon’, a collaboration with guest artist Maarten Vos. ‘We Were The Moon’ will be released in conjunction with Challenge Records in October 2021.

Line up:
Merel van Hoek (guitar/compositions)

    Roos Meijer

The sincerity of Roos Meijer’s alt-folk touches the heart. Roos lends her music to unheard of stories from people all over the world; her EP ‘Maktub’ was about refugees and her debut album (2021) about ‘changemakers’. Live she leaves a big impression with her dynamic set, special stories, distinctive writing style and pure performance.
