Antonio Hardy a.k.a. Big Daddy Kane started his career as a member of rap group Juice Crew, together with the likes of Kool G Rap, Biz Markie and Masta Ace. Since the debut of his solo-album ‘Long Live The Kane’, this MC’s star rose to fame.

Collaboration with 2Pac

Thanks to his biggest hit “Ain’t No Half Steppin’”, this album led to much respect from within the hip hop scene, even resulting in a collaboration with 2Pac. His status was definite with the release of his second album “It’s a Big Daddy Thing”: Already during the Golden Age of Hip Hop, he was praised to be one of the most influential and best rappers in  hip hop history.

The ‘Big Hits’

Anno 2014, Big Daddy still ain’t ‘half steppin’: last year he was recruited to join power group Lifted Crew together with R&B singer Showtyme to form the band Las Supper. However, this Paard van Troje-show will mainly feature his old material, thus his greatest hits.

Rolling Stone magazine ranked his song “Ain’t No Half Steppin'” #25 on its list of The 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs of All Time, calling him “a master wordsmith of rap’s late-golden age and a huge influence on a generation of MCs.” They added, “Legend has it that even the Eighties’ greatest rapper, Rakim, turned down a challenge to go mic-to-mic with Kane
