Dark indiepop in their mother tongue.

Bazart is anything but standard: with dark indie pop in their mother tongue (Dutch), fortified by characteristic harmonies, complex melodies and electronical details, this band is like nothing your ears have ever heard before. The 5-piece formation with its three frontmen is deeply rooted in the vibrant music scene of Ghent and Antwerp, ready to spread the Dutch indie word.

September last year, debut album Echo entered the charts and immediately became the undeniable number one. A record: this had never happened with a Belgian band ever before. Successor Goud did the exact same thing and to top it all off Bazart got nominated for seven MIA’s (The Flamish version of the Grammy’s). They eventually took five of them home.

Still in desperate need of a comparison after reading this? Well, alrighty then: Bazart is the perfect mixture between The National, Yeasayer, Spinvis and Gorky. What more could you wish for?

“ Wij Nederlanders weten verdomd goed hoe we moeten houden van alternatieve Belgische bands als Balthazar, Oscar And The Wolf en Triggerfinger en Bazart lijkt zich verdomd spoedig in dat rijtje te gaan voegen “
