“OCEANS” is inspired by an expedition to Antarctica. In early 2020, Ruben finds himself on a boat in the South Pole, surrounded by endless sea levels, penguin colonies, whales and abandoned settlements.
Ruben composed the soundtrack of the three-part docuseries Op De Vlucht. He has four studio records to his name. In addition, in 2011 he released a live album with the Metropole Orchestra. He was also a member of the well-known British indie formation Fink for a while. He won several Radio 6 Soul & Jazz Awards in 2012 and 2013 and with his album “Hopscotch” he won the Edison audience award.
