The Hague-based indie duo Silver Lake creates nocturnal, melancholic art-pop. After a year of writing, recording, and going back to the drawing board, we can expect a stunningly nuanced sound that blurs the edges of “indie” and touches on 1960s-inspired folk-pop. On May 29, they will bring this to PAARD.
The light and intimate vocals of Marleen Hoebe explore some of the most beautiful aspects of the human experience: taking the time to breathe deeply, sharing that one difficult thing with someone you love, and the comfort and doubts that come with relationships. Hopeful melodies paired with profound lyrics paint the everyday in a nostalgic yet wondrous light, combined with arrangements by partner Jesse Koch that evolve and expand the world created on their debut album.
On May 8, they will release their second album. It will be available on vinyl at this show.
