Paardcafé: Knaller

Thursday 7 March 2024

Dartell Eugenio Mercera, better known by his stage name KNALLER, was born in the Schilderswijk district of The Hague. The rapper never knew his father and he lost his mother at a young age. Knaller comes from a musical family; three of his brothers, among others, also make music. The rapper dropped out of school early and could be found on the streets a lot.

Knaller began his career as an independent artist, releasing a number of single singles in 2017. After making a name for himself with these, he signed a contract with The Hague-based label Wilde Westen Records in the summer of 2018. Here, Knaller released his debut album “Without Father Without Mother” in 2020, which achieved more than 30 million streams.

In 2021, Knaller left the Wilde Westen Records label and joined SPOW Business, the label of rapper 3Robi. Here he released ten singles, after which he released his second album, “Better Days,” completely independently in 2022.

Meanwhile, it is time for Knaller’s third album, ‘Alles Of Niks.’ On the album, Knaller showcases a more mature sound without losing his raw edge from the streets.
