Inge Lamboo is a true daredevil. She never shies away from a challenge. When she has an idea, she approaches it as adventurously as possible. And yes, sometimes that can land her in front of exactly the right people in the music industry. That’s already the case when, as a budding artist, she posts covers of P!NK on the internet via her fan account. Her idol picks it up, drops her name at Sony, and the ball starts rolling. That leads to her debut album Black Heart in 2023. Things can get even crazier than this.
Inge is known for her creative mashups, such as combining Arctic Monkeys’ Do I Wanna Know with Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain, played on an old 12-string guitar she once saved from drowning. A TikTok of this mashup went viral with 800,000 views and even caught the attention of Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Later, as a Pride ambassador, she wrote the anthem Like A Phoenix, with a striking video featuring a burning guitar, and performed this song live on Leo Blokhuis on NPO Radio 2. A snippet of her mashup then became a huge hit with millions of views, even earning her praise from Pete Townshend of The Who, who personally complimented her and looked forward to more of her work.
