Scottish singer Midge Ure is coming to PAARD! After playing guitar and vocals in the successful band Ultravox, he officially embarked on a solo career in 1988, with which he created hits like The Man Who Sold The World and If I Was.
The band Ultravox had a major influence on the New Romantic and electro-pop movements of the early 1980s. Their successful trademark was the combination of Midge’s powerful guitar riffs with captivating synthesizer motifs, enigmatic imagery, and cutting-edge visuals. Songs like Reap the Wild Wind, Dancing With Tears in My Eyes, Love’s Great Adventure, and the timeless classic Vienna from 1981 were global hits and charted with impressive regularity, not only with singles but also with seven consecutive top ten albums in just six years.
