Driven by a love for American blues, funk, and soul, and rooted in the tradition of great British rock bands, Little Barrie moves effortlessly between psychedelic rock and soul. Their music is defined by sharp hooks, deep grooves, and layered, atmospheric sounds that hit you straight away. With a sound that is both tight and rich in detail, they have been building a distinctive style for over two decades.
Their newest album Gravity Freeze will see the light of day on May 22, but you can already listen to one of the songs on streaming services.
Working with a DIY approach, the band develops their music in a simple setting, recording early demos in a cold room surrounded by loose drum kits, art materials, and random pieces of wood and metal before entering the studio. This translates live into a performance full of energy, subtle tension, and pure musical chemistry.
Little Barrie consists of singer-guitarist Barrie Cadogan, bassist Lewis Wharton, and drummer Tony Coote. They play at PAARD on September 30!
