Earlier this year, Dio released his first album in a decade: de vluGtlaan. The project is a coming-of-age story, inspired by a quest that brought him back to his Amsterdam and Surinamese roots, both personally and musically. More mature and honest than ever, but with the same bravura and energy. With contributions from Willem, Typhoon and Ray Fuego, it is, in our opinion, one of the most remarkable and best Nederhop albums released this year. We can’t wait for Dio to enter our Kleine Zaal on 4 December!
With his contribution to The Opposites’ hit Dom, Lomp & Famous, Dio broke through in 2007. With his infectious energy and unmistakable skills, he conquered a prominent place in the Dutch hip-hop scene in no time. His debut album Rock & Roll was soon released, featuring hits such as Aye and Tijdmachine. Music awards, sold-out shows, two albums and several EPs followed. Dio distinguishes himself by combining hip-hop with various genres and by his urge to reinvent himself with every project.
