R. Ring is a fairly new band, but Mike Montgomery and Kelley Deal are no strangers to the underground music scene. For the last ten years Montgomery has developed his skills in a Cincinnati based band Ampline. Kelley Deal is well known for her partaking in the alt-rock scene with her twin sister performing as The Breeders that has had international success. Together they are R. Ring. Sounds like: minimalistic singer/songwriter music combined with modern new wave.
R. Ring combines singing, guitar and keyboards which seems like a standard formula, but turns out to be a recipe that can work miracles if used right. R. Rings sound is minimal, chaotic, hard and at the same time soothing, sometimes even within a single song.
Montgomery and Deal are momentarily working on the recordings of their upcoming 7 inch single that will be distributed through Misra Records. For the time being we can enjoy singles like Scary en Steam, both recorded in the kitchen of Kelley Deal. To die for!
