Main hall:
Eli Verveine [CH]
Eli Verveine is an honest DJ: she plays deep, warm house music from the heart. A former Red Bull Music Academy participant, Eli Verveine has developed a devoted following for her deeply personal style of DJing. With Eli, there is nothing too fancy.
Kangding Ray [FR]
Kangding Ray evolved as a guitarist and drummer in bands whose influences ranged from noise-rock, to jazz, before buying an Akai sampler and moving on to electronic music. His musical compositions consist of subtle melodies that combine with machine sounds into subtle and rhythmic tunes.
Luomo [FI]
This artist from Finland used a whole range of different names to experiment with ambient, broken beat, glitch, grooves, house music with soulful vocals and more. Luomo, the name he started using for his dub-house recordings that were released under the Force Tracks sublabel banner, is Ripatti’s experimental pop alter ego, with which he stretches the lines between techno, house and disco.
Chloé [FR]
Chloé’s style is a cross between house music, electronic, minimal, and dirty electro, and she is famous for her performances at renowned clubs and festivals such as Mutek, Montreux Jazz festival, Benicassim, La Route du Rock, Marsatac and Sonar.
Danton Eeprom [UK/FR]
Danton Eeprom has experimented with many different musical styles since his teens. Garage rock, pop, experimental, super underground warehouse beats; he tried it all. Somewhere along the line, he rediscovered his Chicago and Detroit techno and house influences, but never let go of the rave, rock and pop that influenced him.
Small hall:
MNML SSGS is an electronic music blog, based somewhere between Melbourne and Tokyo. Founded in 2007, it is run by Chris and Peter, two close friends who love music. The blog is centred on techno, house, ambient, experimental, and related sounds, and seeks to provide a constructive and critical voice on these genres. In 2010 MNML SSGS moved into the physical realm with parties in Melbourne and Tokyo. And now in 2011 MNML SSGS will be working with TodaysArt to program a lineup of electronic music for your head and feet.
Nuel [IT]
Manuel Fogliata, aka Nuel, is part of a new wave of techno coming from Italy, led by studio partner Donato Dozzy. Together Nuel and Dozzy have released two highly sought after Aquaplano EPs, now selling for hundreds of Euros in Discogs. The Aquaplano sound explores hypnotic techno and meditative ambient in equal measure.
Raime [UK]
Raime first appeared in 2010, with 2 EPs on the hotly tipped Blackest Ever Black label. Drawing on a wide range of influences – from ‘80s post-punk, industrial, Birmingham techno and various forms of bass music – Raime have created a sound that is very much their own and remarkably contemporary.
Delta Funktionen [NL]
Delta Funktionen’s star is rising quickly, having already graced the decks at clubs like Fabric, The Bunker and Berghain. When DJing, he explores a wide spectrum of sounds: from Detroit and Chicago through to electro and the most cutting edge techno. Delta Funktionen is an important figure in the new generation of techno. At TodaysArt, you will hear why.
Ancient Methods [DE]
Ancient Methods have developed their own distinctive brand of techno, best described as ‘pitch black techno war funk’. In a club setting, their live show is known for its power and intensity. This is techno made for warrior gods.
