Banty Holler fuses classic country & rock n’ roll with the hottest new Americana from The Hague, baby!
Their latest album, Lost in Song, emerged from a cliché without glamour: the midlife crisis. The creator reflects on his youth through old addictions and the music that moved him back then. While Gijsbert isn’t experiencing a crisis himself, he does share a love of shredding on his Telecaster. Together they explored cherished styles like punk, alt-country, folk, rockabilly, and blues. Without a fixed plan, they followed their intuition and the power of spontaneous creativity.
The best ideas arise in strange times. Four friends seized the unrest of lockdowns to make music together. It started with covers via webcam from the couch and quickly grew into a rock-solid Americana band featuring original material. Turmoil’s sound fits right in with Dawn Brothers, Tim Knol & Wondering Hearts, and Voltage.
In four years, the band has grown from covers performed remotely to an Americana rock band with a fantastic live sound. This has now been crowned with an album: Coming Home. Recorded at Rogier Steijaert’s Mambo Studio. Turmoil is a band you’ll definitely be hearing more from. With this new album under their belt, they’ll be touring the Netherlands in 2025 to introduce audiences to their fresh take on “old school” guitar-driven music.
