Paardcafé: Polarized & Howrah

Friday 3 October 2025

POLARIZED is a guitar-driven trio from The Hague with deep roots in the noise rock scene. Known for their raw and angular sound, the band draws on years of collective experience, with members shaped by their long careers in various underground bands. Relentlessly loud and fiercely independent, they channel chaos into tightly wound riffs, feedback-soaked textures, and a rhythm section that hits like a sledgehammer.

HOWRAH…, yes, that can safely be written in capital letters, because it can be and because they know how to make a real impact. This is once again evident on their new, third album, “Ends And Means.” The sound is unmistakably HOWRAH, but they have grown since their previous album, “Bliss” (2021). Their sound is more coherent and fuller, without losing any of its rough edges. The songs are longer, heavier, and most of them are faster than before. HOWRAH operates at a consistently high level, and on “Ends And Means” they once again deliver powerful blows that you will gladly take.
