Paardcafé: Hofstad Hiphop

June 28th will be the release of a new piece of Hague history on vinyl at the Paardcafé!

Saturday 28 June 2025

In 1989, Mister Mixi and Skinny Scotty had a huge hit with “I Can Handle It” and enjoyed worldwide fame. They toured countless countries. Their music video, shot in Hollywood, made this release even more unique. MistaSweet recently made a “break” remix as an ode to this song and decided to release it on vinyl,.
The B-side features another track by Skinny Scotty and MistaSweet, this time featuring Hague dancehall artist Don Fayaaz, called “Style And Pattern.” This is a track reminiscent of the 1990s where dancehall and hip-hop were often combined.

To celebrate this release, several Hague acts will perform June 28, including Jack Faded, Skofniks and Don Fayaaz. Skinny Scotty will perform a mix between hip-hop and dancehall with Bruyah (together under the name Hurricanesound).
The high energy “break” remix of “I Can Handle It” calls for a break cypher in which breakers challenge each other and try to convince each other to be better than the other. In the end, 1 dancer will go home with a nice pocket change and a few pieces of vinyl: the “I Can Handle It Boss.”

During the evening, MistaSweet will spin the records and the host of the evening will be D.Chesron. In addition to the performances and cypher, there will also be an open mic, where the DJ sets the music and rappers and singers in attendance can show off their skills.
