Good news: synthpop pioneer and singer Marc Almond is coming to Paard. He recently said goodbye to his career as the lead singer of Soft Cell in the London O2, which was far from faded glory according to this 4-star review from Volkskrant. Soft Cell made Almond one of the biggest stars of the ‘80s: ‘Tainted Love’ became one of the best-selling records of the year.

Singles became his specialty and a total of 30 million sold records says it all. In this ‘Hit and Pieces Tour’ he will play his top singles live. Hits like ‘Say Hello Goodbye‘, ‘Something’s Gotta Hold of my Heart‘, ‘Days of Pearly Spencer‘ and of course ‘Tainted Love‘. Next to his own original songs, he will also play covers such as the beautiful rendition of Jack Brel’s ‘Jackie‘ and Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love‘. Golden songs and all-time favourites!

“ His energy is unrelenting. From orchestrating the crowd, dancing to instrumentals and engaging the musicians and back-up singers throughout the two-hour performance, Almond never hits a bum note. “
