In their first year, 2011/2012, JR & the Mutations went through a rush after they released the album “As the Wind Turns” in a packed Rotown in Rotterdam. Though they had mixed reviews on their performance they steadily grew as a band as they were doing gigs on a regular basis. Which led them to competitions in Utrecht where they managed to get to the semi-finals but didn’t win, but it gave them faith and a boost that they were heading the right Way.
Gigs were given in the region of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. And eventually they played the finals of De Grote Prijs van Zuid-Holland in Lantaarn Venster Rotterdam, which they didn’t win but were to be considered a valuable experience.
To top off the season they were asked to be the support act of Mini Mansions (USA) in Paradiso Amsterdam.
Now a new rhythm ace section has been established which brings the music to another level and JR and his Mutations are back on track to make beautiful, atmospheric music for all to hear.
